Kristopher Schock

Kristopher Schock started employment as a Workforce Consultant at the Polson Job Service in 2016. He was born in St. Ignatius and raised on a dairy farm in the Mission Valley. He studied in Switzerland and Austria and graduated with degrees in German and Political Science from Montana State University. After graduation, Kristopher taught high school English for two years in Austria through the Fulbright Program. While living in Chicago, he worked as a Consular Officer in the Press and Culture Department at the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany and coordinated numerous visits of high-ranking German diplomats, including Chancellor Merkel’s visit to Chicago during the 2012 NATO Summit. Kristopher lives in Polson with his wife, Erin.

Job Service Polson is part of a state-wide system of workforce development centers, focusing on serving both job seekers and businesses throughout Lake County. Some of the business services offered by the Polson office include: assisting with job description creation in order to better attract quality applicants; using Labor Market Information to research and compare wage data; offering free online subject and job-based testing for pre-employment screening of applicants; providing general labor law information and referrals to other state agencies; co-hosting events such as the Spring Job Fair; connecting businesses with grants such as the Incumbent Worker Training grant; and utilizing federal and state funding to train workers.
